accident asked for time off under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
What could have been a straightforward decision became very complicated,
because she had ‘joint employers.’ She worked for a company with 17,000
employees in 42 states. But she worked at a long- term care facility
more than 75 miles away from her employer’s nearest site, with no other
employees from the same company. What’s significant about 75 miles?
